▬about this canal ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ We are Brigitta and Hannes. Together we sail around the world. For this we bought the catamaran Lagoon 40 MariaNoa with which we set off on the barefoot route from the French Atlantic coast at the beginning of March 2021. For many years, a circumnavigation had been my (Hannes's) big dream, which I wanted to realize when I retired due to my career. But sometimes life turns out differently than you planned. In spring 2020 I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Suddenly my life sped up considerably. I sold my house, cleared out the household contents and started buying mountains of marine equipment. “Cast off!” was 4 1/2 years ago. Right now we are at the South Pacific on our way to Australia which we want explore by motorhome. 2026 we will visit our 4 sponsered children by Plan International at the Philippines, Indonesia, Kambodscha and Vietnam.
