#SailingScotland #Oban #SailingMadness #SailingChannel #ScottishIslands #SailingLife Join Dave and Robin in another episode of Sailing Madness as we return to the stunning west coast of Scotland for an unpredictable sailing adventure! After last week’s storm, the wind has all but disappeared, making this trip a mix of sailing, motor-sailing, and plenty of laughs along the way. We kick things off navigating through the famous Dorus Mor tidal race, where the current pushes us up to 8 knots, before passing the Fladda Lighthouse and heading towards Oban. With calm seas, Caribbean stories, and a few video-making “tips” from Robin, there’s never a dull moment aboard. Once in Oban, we head ashore for a bit of “Trekking with Dave,” climbing up to the iconic McCaig’s Tower (also known as McCaig’s Folly). The steep hike is well worth it, rewarding us with breathtaking views over Oban Bay and the Sound of Mull. If you enjoy sailing, Scotland’s west coast, or just want some light-hearted sailing banter, this episode is for you! ⛵ In this episode: • Light winds and motor-sailing in Scotland • Navigating Dorus Mor tidal race & Fladda Lighthouse • Arrival at Oban Transit Marina • Trekking to McCaig’s Tower for incredible views • Caribbean sailing stories & plenty of laughs 👉 Don’t miss the next episode, where we finally catch some wind sailing north from Oban towards Appin Bay, pick up a mooring ball, and even drop cameras overboard for a look beneath the hull!
