We wanted to make our sailboat "car" comfortable when in any kind of waves, since we have one on the mother ship (Gulfstar 44), why not the dinghy?

We continue to go over the used Rainman Watermaker. We pull the pump and motor out of the blue enclosure, check the impeller, spark plug and filter.

We pulled the unit out to our small pool outside to change the oil and test run the pump and motor, and figure out how the stop switch works... or doesn't work.

So we need to replace the high pressure hose and add in a flow meter to our Rainman Watermaker membranes.

We drill some big holes in the back of our boat to permanently install the Rainman Watermaker motor and pump. We test the water output in our canal (brackish water) and install the membranes in their new home. To finish off, we show how to Pickle the system.

We decided we need a backup water supply, even though we have a 200 gallon water tank on board. So we bought a used Rainmain Watermaker for emergency use on our Gulfstar 44 Motorsailer. We got the Petrol version... basically a small gas engine that runs the high pressure pump with the high capacity membranes... 37 gallon per hour.

We finished working on our Mast next to our house, we now have to pull it through the town to the marine to get it put back on the boat.

We start re-wiring and polishing our Mast. We add in a new VHF cable and wind meter. We replace our spreader and steaming lights. Then give the whole aluminum mast a light sanding and polishing to make it shiny! 1974 Gulfstar 44.

In this short series we pull the mast and set it on a home made dolly system to transport it to our house. We look to change out a vhf wire and add a wind meter as well as new lights. Then give the mast a good polish, then walk it through town to have it lifted and put back on.

We meet another Gulfstar sailboat... who happen to have a YouTube Channel just like us! Since we are not cruising yet... we have the chance to grill them about what it is like!

We show how we install a new Primus Air X Marine Silent wind generator. We ordered the poles and hardware kit to make the install really easy.

We take a week long trip from Oriental to Cape Lookout, then to Wrightsville Beach and finally to Carolina Beach. We end up helping out a fellow sail boater with a tow and catch some dolphin action.
