It was HOT and HUMID on the boat at end of workday so we had to find a way to cool off. How do you cool off at the end of your work day?

We did our prep work for a short journey and all predictions said we would be going into the wind and waves but that waves would start at 2 ft on 4 sec and go to 1 1/2 ft on 4 seconds. We thought that would be good for a motor for a 2 1/2 hour journey. The Predictions were wrong and we got much larger waves. Just made the journey a little bit more rocky than expected.

No Name Harbor....We were told that if a storm was coming this was a very protected anchorage to come into. And we had some big winds and storms coming. We were lucky and a spot opened up inside the Harbor for us to move into from the outside. If you didnt know this can be a hard place to find a spot to anchor sometimes, especially when storms are coming. So is it the safe spot, are there things to do when not storming, do you have access to getting provisions, etc? We go through and show you what life is like in the anchorage during a storm and not storming, what shore activities there are, and we go over our thoughts on the anchorage. We are on our next part of our Journey south and we get radioed by a catamaran leaving the inlet with us. He says he is heading to the same spot and says lets see who can get there first. So the Race was on! Can we beat a Catamaran with our monohull? We had some issues but start out great as far as the race is going. We chose different routes to get there so for a lot of the race we could barely see each other. It was a fun and beautiful journey. And watching the water color changes as we went was something new. We get to experience a lot as we spend our first few days in a large anchorage then make our second passage to Ft Lauderdale. We have a boat or Yacht almost crash into our buddy boat, we get to explore on our dinghy, we have some beautiful sunrises, and go through a drawbridge that is only half opening plus much more. We finally get to a spot to pick up our first mooring ball. it wasn't easy or without complications but we got it. We will definitely have things set up different next time.

After 6 months in a Marina doing upgrades and fixing broken parts on our boat we purchased, we can finally take off on our First Passage. We are doing the passage in 3 parts. Ft Pierce to West Palm Beach in this FIrst one. We are working our way towards the Florida Keys. This was a great first passage for us other than not enough wind to sail. We did get a great show by dolphins, and had some rain squalls to deal with. But now that we are out on the water we will be exploring from here on out. In this video we start the process of Cutting the foam, stuffing the foam into the covers, and learn to template for irregular cushions. in less than 12 hours we went from high winds, rain, lightening to dead Calm. Mother Nature's is definitely showing her bipolar side today. Both sides can be beautiful but I prefer her Calm side!

We become Crew on a Leopard 45 for 4 days to help some friends deliver their boat to Ft Lauderdale. It was due to have some warranty work done and they just wanted us to tag along. Not sure how much crewing we did but we did have lots of laughs, fun, adventure and learning. We learned we still prefer our monohull. Windlass series...This is Part 3 of 3 of the WIndlass removal, repair, and install. In this episode we install the Windlass, Stainless steel plate, and redo all the electrical to get it all going.
