Sun, Sea and Sustainability Sustainability. Such a downtrodden word. Politicians use it to sound environmentally aware, companies use it to sound more green and we the people use it because everyone else is using it and we don’t want to be left out. But what does it mean, sustainability? According to the Cambridge dictionary: the ability to continue at a particular level for a period of time. It could also mean: The idea that goods and services should be produced in ways that do not use resources that cannot be replaced and that do not damage the environment. For some it it is about urban farming, to others it refers to solar panels or circular economy. But what does it mean to us? And should it mean anything to us? Well, we’re planning to find out. We’ve decided to buy a sailboat and set sail in search for the meaning of sustainability, and who knows, maybe pick up ideas methods or tools along the way that could make our lives more sustainable, whatever that may be.
