After waiting for a month for the Haringvliet bridge to open again after extensive maintenance, we could finally sail our boat to its new marina. But in the meantime winter had arrived and the temperature had dropped to below zero. Without the obstacle of the closed bridge out of the way neither snow or sleet could refrain us from our next adventure: Sailing in winter. After we bought our new secondhand Dufour 31 from 1977 ;-) It was time to test her out. Before we purchased the boat we did a test sail with the previous owner but we never sailed her alone. It was a bit scary because we both have never sailed alone on a bigger boat like this. But in the end it's just like a small boat the only difference is that everything goes slower. The end of the I'M BINCK festival, so our paper boat Binkie was hauled out of the water for the last time. We expected it to disintegrate before the end of the festival, but surprisingly he's still in good shape after 4 weeks in the water. Mixed emotions, proud that he kept well these weeks, sad to put him on the hard and say goodbye.
