We have amazing craftspeople building Quino del Mar, launching July 2025!
As the sun sets on this beautiful San Jose del Cabo evening, Rocio del Mar departs for Socorro and another epic adventure for twenty divers. February 5, 2024
While diving the famous dive site, The Boiler, at San Benedicto Island, divers got to see a HUGE tiger shark! Thank you to Jerson (Divemaster) for capturing this amazing experience on video. Photo taken January 2023 aboard Quino el Guardian. Join Mexico Liveaboards for your own EPIC adventure aboard Rocio del Mar and Quino el Guardian to Socorro and the Sea of Cortez.
Revillagigedo is well-known to have the friendliest giant pacific manta rays on Earth. Just slip below the surface and soon they will appear. It makes a diver think just who is checking out who? The giant creature comes up to one diver then after a quick "how do you do" is off to greet another diver. As wonderful as this is to see on a video, it is a thousand times more incredible to experience this in person. Come with us aboard Rocio del Mar and Quino el Guardian!
Watch how Karen Acevedo catches Dr. Deni Ramirez ultrasound a whale shark in Revillagigedo, also known as the Socorro Islands. This video was taken during a citizen science expedition aboard Quino el Guardian.
The Archipielago de Revillagigedo is home to seven species of sharks, playful bottlenose dolphins, inquisitive manta rays, and clouds of jacks, barracuda, and wahoo. From mid-February to mid-April, humpback whales visit this area offering guests opportunities for surface sightings and, when mother nature allows, a unique chance to see them underwater. Video by Michael Pizzi.
The giant manta rays of Revillagigedo are unique in their desire to interact with divers. A diver maneuvers under the curious manta as we believe the mantas enjoy the feeling of the bubbles on his belly. He enjoys them so much that he does a somersault around the diver. Wow! Video by Michael Krampf, choreography by God, on December 4, 2020 at El Canon at San Benedicto Islands in the Archipielago de Revillagigedo.
While diving at El Canon at San Benedicto Island in Revillagigedo, scuba diver Susan Long gets to dance with a giant pacific manta ray.
Experience the excitement of being in the middle of a giant bait ball with striped marlin and sea lions jutting in and out of the mass. Taken aboard Quino el Guardian Liveaboard in Magdalena Bay November 2020! Video by Beth Watson Images.
Each August, we have a special trip to the Sea of Cortez/Midriff Islands to benefit breast cancer research with Dive for a Cure. In August 2020, we had 18 fun-loving ladies, a big inflatable pink flamingo, a pink tutu, and lots of craziness to go with an even crazier crew. We had a blast!
Incredibly remote yet filled with life. The Sea of Cortez - where the desert meets the sea. Dive with sea lions, nudibranchs, jawfish, turtles, eels, octopus and more. Dive lush reefs, deep walls and caverrns.
See the abundance of life diving the Sea of Cortez and Midriff Islands aboard Quino el Guardian Liveaboard. The boat leaves from Puerto Penasco from July through October, a four-hour shuttle ride from Phoenix Airport.
Feel what it's like to be in the middle of nowhere as you dive the lush waters of the Sea of Cortez. A short shuttle ride from the Phoenix Airport to the boat in Puerto Penasco and you'll be diving with sea lions, eels, octopus, rays, turtles, and countless fish. Join us!
When you dive on Rocio del Mar or Quino el Guardian in the Sea of Cortez, you will likely come across one of these amazing animals. Enjoy!
30 seconds of fun during a stressful time of social distancing during COVID19. We know it's tough out there for everyone including our diver friends. We are just wanting to bring a few smiles to our friends.
A favorite stop during our Sea of Cortez/Midriff Islands dive trips is Bahia de Los Angeles where we snorkel with whale sharks. These gentle giants come into this bay to feed. We use the local boats to take us into the bay. The crew looks for the whale sharks and then 4 people can get into the water with them. Sometimes they swim by quickly (there is absolutely no way to keep up with them ) and sometimes they are just happy to eat. We can even see multiple whale sharks at one time! Remember the three rules of snorkeling with whale sharks: 1) Don't touch the whale shark, 2) Don't touch the whale shark, and 3) Don't touch the whale shark. He he he!
Filmed in Socorro by Andres Madejon aboard Mexico Liveaboards (Rocio del Mar and Quino el Guardian) in Socorro February 2020! LOVE IT!
A parade of hammerheads - simply magical!
A highlight of our Sea of Cortez/Midriff Islands dive trips is snorkeling with whale sharks. These incredible animals - the largest fish in the sea - are truly gentle giants, choosing Bahia de Los Angeles for feeding. It is an incredible, natural experience and one that makes a lifetime of memories.
Every trip is a dance party on Quino el Guardian! Check out our trip to Roca Partida in Revillagigedo (Socorro) with Mexico Liveaboards!
