Hydrovane is thrilled to add these uniquely wing-ed sails to our range of offshore gear! Stability, lift, ease of use, fly from 70° to 180° AWA - there are many reasons why these are truly exceptional sails. Especially for a short handed crew. Yes, the first time we hoisted ours was at the dock with hardly a breath of wind. Impressive to see it fly! And we’re even more enthralled using it out on open water 😝 Choose from standard colour patterns or customize with a logo/design like we did. Thanks Bruce - 'SV Liberty Call' - for the video. Watch our for those swells! Note how much more functional and safe the cockpit becomes when the main steering wheel is fixed / not moving.
Thank you to 'Sea Cloud', HR 48, for sending us this great footage! Note the dinghy on davits... no affect on Hydrovane performance. As long as the vane can pivot freely, the dinghy can rest up on the Hydrovane drive unit or shaft. The line running forward is the remote course adjustment line. Looks like a smooth ride!
Great footage off Mallorca... This Garcia 48 Catamaran weighs over 23 Tons! "It works perfectly on a 23 tons aluminum cat - GARCIA 48, entered in the next WORLD ARC" And a later report: "This week we tested the GARCIA with 25 knots wind from behind - excellent with your XT vane !!!!!!" Note the Extended Heading Tube (often recommended for Catamarans to get the Vane up even higher). The video also shows our Watt&Sea bracket (attached to the Hydrovane Shaft). Pretty cool stuff...
