The 2023 GC32 Lagos Cup officially kicks off this week - from 21-25 June - where the fleet of GC32 flying catamarans will race in the Algarve, Portugal.
Competition for the one design flying catamarans of the 2023 GC32 Racing Tour will take place over three events and two venues in 2023: Riva Cup 24-28 May, Lagos Cup 21-25 June and the 2023 World Championship 10-14 July.

Top international crew, including America’s Cup winners and Olympian gold medallists, are descending on Villasimius for one of the pinnacles in foiling catamaran racing, the third GC32 World Championship.
In one month’s time the GC32 Racing Tour is set to return to the idyllic Sardinian seaside resort of Villasimius for the headline event of its 2021 season: the GC32 World Championship. At least nine teams will be on the start line, including Ernesto Bertarelli’s Alinghi, winner of the first two events of this 2021 season and also the defending GC32 World Champion having been crowned in Lagos, Portugal in 2019.
With winds blowing close to 30 knots, all the teams hit near record breaking speeds of 37-40 knots on the penultimate day of racing in Lagos, Portugal.
A sensational four days of flying catamaran racing lies in store for the GC32 fleet as the second event of the 2021 GC32 Racing Tour season starts tomorrow (29 July) in Lagos on Portugal’s Algarve coast.

The six teams couldn’t ask for more of the conditions than they experienced on the penultimate day of the GC32 Lagos Cup 1. Sunny skies, flat water, moderate breeze but very shifty, meaning you could never relax for a moment.
Four challenging races on day one of the GC32 Lagos Cup 1 brought sailors back to the marina with happy, smiling faces. OK, so a lack of wind on the Algarve coast meant racing was pushed back by a few hours. But what’s a few hours after you’ve been waiting 18 long months for racing to resume!
