The UniCredit Youth America’s Cup has begun 🇺🇸🦅 After day 1, the American Magic Youth Team had a great day with a score line of 2 , 1 and are sitting in first, winning a tie break with ITA The format sees the twelve teams split into two groups of six for an initial fleet race series. American Magic is in group A with the sailors representing the official America’s Cup teams will race in one group The top three teams from each side after eight races will race together in four fleet races to decide the top-two crews and from there it’s a one-race, winner-takes-all match race.

The New York Yacht Club American Magic sailing squad was confirmed on June 23 as the team launched their second AC40 in Barcelona following their relocation from Pensacola, FL. The squad includes Olympic Gold Medalists Tom Slingsby and Paul Goodison, Olympic Bronze Lucas Calabrese, U.S. Olympians Andrew Campbell and Riley Gibbs, and Etchell World Champion Michael Menninger.

On December 17, 2020 in Auckland (December 16 in the U.S.), the four AC75's will finally go racing: TE REHUTAI, LUNA ROSSA, BRITANNIA and PATRIOT. Race Day at America's Cup World Series Auckland will be 1,081 days after the New York Yacht Club challenged the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron for the Cup. The American challenge was issued seconds after entries opened. Race Day will be 460 days after DEFIANT, American Magic's first AC75, was launched in Rhode Island. Race Day will be 62 days after PATRIOT first touched the sea in Auckland. Race Day will be here in 7 days, and New York Yacht Club American Magic, the U.S. Challenger for the 36th America's Cup, will be ready.
