We were at the Alubat boatyard in France earlier this week for the launch of the NEW Ovni 490 and got the opportunity to shoot a tour for a first look of the latest in the new Ovni range of aluminum sailboats. While we didn't have enough time on this trip for a complete and thorough look, we did get an overview of the interior layout and features while it was being commissioned for the handover to the owner later in the week. We know that there is little opportunity to open every single floorboard at a boat show. That’s why we took the time to look under the floorboards aboard an Ovni 370 to give you an idea of where and how the systems are integrated. Our first observation was the sheer number of floorboards. It makes sense though – it’s much easier to open and remove smaller panels than to try to lift heavy and awkward panels, especially while underway. Another observation is that you can access every single system aboard. And perhaps the most surprising revelation was the dusty dry bilge! Stick around to the end for a bonus ‘under the beds’!

We just finished our first Annapolis Sailboat Show and we couldn't be more thrilled about the reception to the new Alubat Ovni 370. We also had our first impromptu owner rendezvous with new Ovni owners sailing aboard Kevin's 370 'Jacky C' - many thanks to Kevin who was generous with sharing his knowledge and experience with us.
