Winter sailing in the Med can be rewarding, but watch out as the snow topped mountains can send hurricane force katabatic winds to knock you flat. Good thing we have a strong blue water boat.

Sailing from Europe to Africa and Crossing the Atlantic to the Caribbean and Central America we sailed over 7,000 in 2024 and visited 16 countries. We survived hurricane Beryl and made many new friends. We are currently sailing across the Atlantic ending our European and African chapters of this journey. Since I have time on my hands! and we have Starlink, I thought we would post as series of shorts showing some of the fantastic place we've visited and experiences we've had over the last 5 years. Regular viewers will know one of the things we've always wanted to do is moor the boat in winter in a place where we could easily go skiing. We came very close during our winter in Venice with the snow capped dolomite mountains always in view from our mooring. Sadly that year we were scuppered by Covid which kept the ski resorts in the Alps closed all winter. Well this year we've cracked it! Porto Montenegro is a 2 hour drive to Kolasin, a really nice little skiing town high in the picturesque mountains, what's even better is the marina has their own ski chalet which we can book free of charge! @PortoMontenegroTivat @portomontenegrocrewclub @porto_montenegro
