This week feels like a dream. The fridge is fixed and I'm onto the next adventure! Some friends and I anchor together and plan to go out to find and swim with Humpback whales!! These whales migrate to this area every year and swimming with them is something I have always dreamed of. This week I was spoiled with marine life, the best company, and a beautiful anchorage. I left the beautiful island of Makatea at sunset, threw the spinnaker up, and was ready for a peaceful 36 hour downwind sail. The boat had other plans. At midnight, the spinnaker halyard chafed and the sock got stuck. At 5:30 am, I did a routine check, only to find the boat flooded with saltwater.
