Of course we agree and have a wonderful time in our own backyard! But our pleasure was interrupted by a serious emergency with a young lady falling on rocks covered with oysters and suffered a deep cut to her hand with profuse bleeding, tissue from underneath the skin all bulging out and she was in shock.... So join us as we work through the process and logic of fixing a major laceration (cut) as this is very likely to happen on any cruising yacht but also when you are out camping, bushwalking or even at the pub! This week we wonder why this island paradise in Turkey is now deserted??? it went from 2500 people to 0...... Is there a sinister dark secret? We sail on to Sogut to get protection. from an upcoming storm and check out the town. We discover the interesting story of Sadun Boro that was the first Turkish person to sail around the world in a small wooden boat that he built himself! He must also be the very first sailing blogger in the world as he sent weekly reports to the Turkish paper and had an enormous following!!! In fact he made sailing popular in Turkey and subsequently wrote many books of his adventures, pilot books and how to sail books!!! Amazing stuff. We also have huge difficulty clearing one of the outboard pipes that is blocked with something solid that really does not want to come out - what can it be??? We also continue cruising the Turkish coast, explore more interesting amphitheatre's of Roman times and take shelter in a lovely town with a strange unpronounceable name... This week we see the Portofino 52 decisions about interior design and trying to create the "Perfect" countertops! Only the best for Eli!!! Trying to get exactly what Eli wants, is not always straightforward and we take the time to try and make it SPECTACULAR! Back with us sailing the Mediterranean Turkey, we also get chased by the Police as we accidentally enter recently created prohibited area in idyllic quiet bays on the Turquoise Coast.... Who would have thought? Nothing to be seen on the charts and guide books but the armed police made forceful statements about "entry forbidden" and references to the "Sultan" renovating his resort.... So we high tail it out of there. Later we are informed that the restaurants that we were aiming to visit were evicted forcefully by the President and the had to relocate although they are trying to fight for their rights to get their land back in the courts.... This week we see the Portofino leave the shed to be painted and we sail to the beautiful English Harbour in Turkey. However we discovered the world changing, most amazing generator that, if real has to power to change how we all live, whether it's land or water. This device seems too good to be true - using high frequency radio waves that are around us all the time to generate steady power that can power cars FOREVER, run houses and therefore obviously can run boats! Media outlets announced that self powering cars are now being produced commercially in Zimbabwe and the impacts are incredible - cars will run forever without any charging or fuel. The device in the car can also power your house and larger devices can power 300 houses (1/2 Megawatt!). The power output of the small units are 15KW and higher so more than enough to run an electric marine engine indefinitely as well as all of your house needs IF IT WORKS! So this could make hybrid engines and diesels obsolete.... Amazing stuff - but we need to see if it is real, works and has longevity! But in the story they say they have been developed over 15 years so are in cars, helicopters, motorbikes and TVs - so no AC power needed at all! Watch this space....
