In this video, I´m still in Martinique and doing boat work social style. This Island is now almost back in business, and the only challenge now is the hurricane season is getting close. I have made my decision on where to sail next, and also future plans. But of course, like a true sailor, all this is written in the sand on low tide and could be changed without further notice.

The biggest project this week is adding a secondary Raymarine autopilot system and lots of other things. My friend Øyvind is sewing on his bimini and Harald has some smaller projects going on. We also made time for a grand guided tour on this island with the lovely Norwegian Hanna who lives here.

| Season 2 | Episode 16 |

Angels Gate to Coches Prietos Anchorage,
Santa Cruz Island of the Channel Islands of California.

The last week of 2017 I took an amazing solo sailing trip to the Channel Islands. I visit six anchorages on Santa Cruz Island before sailing for Catalina Island and tying up in Isthmus Cove for New Years Eve and meeting up with Meital. We sailed back on New Years Day enjoying sunshine, great wind and thousands of dolphins.

On this episode I prepare Triteia for the long trip and push off for Santa Cruz Island. The over night passage was 22.5 hours / 77 nm finally coming to anchor at Coches Prietos Anchorage on the southern shore of Santa Cruz.

While I was on my trip I started my first podcast and the first episode is up online now. The podcast is titled “A STERN VIEW” and is something of a cruising guide to anchorages and sailing destinations. Each episode is recorded on location and I cover everything I know about the anchorage from my research and experience at the anchorage.

I also kept a journal in my logbook and will be posting them as a blog with still photos. This will act as support to the A STERN VIEW podcast as will each new video episode that features the anchorage covered in the podcast episodes.

I'm a sailor with a YouTube channel and not a YouTuber. Sailing around the world in a Bavaria 55 Cruiser mostly solo, making videos whenever we have time for it.

Even though this is season 7 on YouTube I did not make that many videos in the beginning, and obviously not from my entire sailing life. Before full-time sailing 6 years ago, I sailed several seasons in the Mediterranean, and obviously also in Scandinavia. I had my first sailboat at age 7 and have been sailing and racing ever since. A special episode featuring a boat tour of the J42, Sailing Vessel Thylacine. Captain Noah Peffer walks us through Thylacine and her features and some of his plans as he and his wife Alex prepare for full-time cruising in the very near future.

Noah Peffer is an educator at the University of Southern California... I stole the below text from their website.

Captain Noah Peffer, Lecturer and Vessel Captain
Captain Peffer Graduated from Tufts University and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston with a two bachelors in Art and Education in 2000 and promptly moved to Los Angeles. In 2005 he completed a graduate degree in art at Cal Arts and has been working as a conceptual artist, carpenter, fabricator and teacher in Los Angeles for the past decade. Captain Peffer grew up sailing the East Coast and Bahamas on the David Stevens schooner Sarah Abbott (sister ship to Atlantas!) with his family. The son of a wooden boat owner he was raised in and around boatyards and developed an interest in traditional sailing craft while simultaneously racing on everything from 420’s, to Shields, to Schooners, to ocean racing ULDB’s. Weeks after setting off from Croatia we finally sailed back into Gibraltar! After arriving at the Queensway Quay Marina there were a few boat jobs to do and a leaking window to deal with but as always we made time to get out and explore. We discovered a new World War 2 bunker that we missed last time we were here and celebrated Christmas with a BBQ on the boat and swim for Rose at Rosia Bay.
