– Christophe Chedal Anglay’s interior design is luxurious.
– The SA/D ratio on the Regatta set up is 38. The rotating mast is optional.
– Price could hIt €8m and over for a regatta version with all of the toys, the price is highly dependant on your options of course.

When we hit the road full time with our RV in October 2020, we honestly didn't know if New York City would be an option. At that point, it wasn't. Covid, politics, crime...it all had us a bit nervous about whether or not we should go there. Thankfully, a friend that Brandon went to high school with reached out and didn't give us much of an option. She said, "come park your RV RIGHT in front of our house and we'll show you that NYC is safe and open for business!" We're so glad we did. As usually...it turned out to be an incredible time spent with incredible people!

Do it (whatever "IT" is for you)...fear is nothing compared to regret!

Hello Friends,

Now that we have finished up the first half of Season 7 where we anchored all around Catalina Island for 10 days I thought it would be good to make a few videos demystifying anchoring for anyone who has never anchored and wants to expand their cruising grounds.

As I mention in the video this is at the "Quick and Dirty" version almost like the "Cliffs Notes" of what you NEED and NEED to know. In this video I explain what Ground Tackle is and how important it is to understand Scope and what to do if you find yourself dragging anchor.

I will be doing a longer versions that might be a few episodes getting deeper into Anchors, Rode, Anchorages, Techniques and more.

Here are the links for things discussed in the video:

Hello Friends,

On this episode we travel back in time a bit to May of 2018 when I bought my "new to me" gimbaled alcohol stove then we snap back to the present time and get to work on designing and building the closure for the stove.

Triteia came with a fixed alcohol stove mounted in the galley. While alcohol is a much slower burning fuel than propane it has a couple of advantages. First and foremost its not explosive, this is my main reason for sticking with alcohol. The other main reason for me is that I am outfitting our boat to sail all around the world and I have seen a lot of videos of cruisers struggles to get propane in far flung places.

I finally found the time to get started on installing the oven so this episode shows my process of making a template and cutting the pieces out of plywood that will later be laminated, trimmed out in teak and installed in the galley.

I hope everyone is having a good winter catching up on boat projects like myself or at least catching up on reading sailing books while you wait for your sailing season to start!

Fair Winds,
Sailor James

In Noank, Connecticut, we find a bluewater sailboat for sale. She's a New Zealand-made Alan Warwick design Cardinal 42 sailboat built for racing and circumnavigation. The current owner loves to single-hand her and has made some very clever alterations.... including a tweak to the Monitor steering system as well as an innovative solution to seal a tired teak deck.

Here's the best part.... WE WENT SAILING ON HER!!! It was an amazing spring day and we got some much-needed vitamin D.

This is a great example in why I normally don't do buddy sailing. Underway I discovered more and more problems not only with their boat but also the crew. This is a serious video with no script or acting only sharing the reality. The oceans don’t care if you’re a nice or sympathetic person, it threatens everyone the same. And disrespectful approach to oceans will cost your life. The aftermath from this sailing was pretty chocking to me. Owner of the boat I assisted don’t have money to keep up with maintenance making sure the boat is seaworthy. And the captains lack of understanding his responsibility and safety for his crew and himself is seriously questionable. On the boat side engine was not working properly, meaning they could not go above 1000rpm. No broadcasting AIS and no instruments working. No radar. A VHF only working 2,5NM when it should work at least 20NM. No satellite phone or modem for communication. Navigation lights not suitable for open water. No maps on the navigation systems only iPhone and the list goes on. On the crew side that should realised this is not a seaworthy boat leaving a marina late before a hurricane with no Jerry cans for extra diesel and already low on diesel. No sailing skills and obviously not understanding the incoming dangers.

My mistake was to believe a boat used for comercial charter would not only have competent crew but also a seaworthy boat. Their original plan was sailing to Cartagena in Columbia via Linton Bay in Panama. When showing them the weather and also the predictions for thunderstorms they asked to buddy sail with me to Bocas. Assuming they where at least capable of 5 kts and also willing to work hard to follow my route being the ones asking for permission to sail along with me. Meaning I had to delay my departure with one day, and even delayed this limit with almost one more day.

I have not shared everything here but I’m serious when saying this boat and it’s crew is an Desaster waiting to happen. All the ingredients for going totally wrong with a different outcome was here. If I had not pushed them so hard to get out of the hurricane zone they would been at the worst possible position and situation when Julia grew to a Hurricane. One of the two sailboats staying behind left next morning only 12-14 hours later. Meaning he was pretty close to us when I went back for my buddy boat telling them now it’s serious. His story is strong telling about the crazy weather destroying his sails on a big well maintained yacht, only hours behind us.

So I have my reasons also based on my decades of experience to believe this story could get a different outcome. Some luck that the hurricane did not form 10-15 hours earlier and grew a bit more. And the fact I did not give up on this hopeless crew. Nor the owner or it’s crew ever realised or understand this situation or the potential outcome. Some boats and sailors should stop

I`m sailing around the world in my Bavaria 55 Cruiser, making videos whenever I have time for it. Most of the time I sail singlehanded but occasionally I do have sailing friends onboard. Still in the Caribbean due to Covid and was supposed to be in Asia by now.

Even though this is season 4 on youtube I did not make that many videos in the beginning. Before full-time sailing, I have sailed several seasons in the Med prior to this, and obviously also in Scandinavia. I have been traveling the world before and have also been an active regatta sailor for decades. I had my first sailboat at age 7 and have been sailing ever since. Tasmania is bigger than many people think - by far larger than any Mediterranean island - and a challenge for sailors. Situated in the Roaring Forties, with large swells on the west coast, caution is advised. I start in Launceston, sail along the north coast, encounter penguins and flocks of birds near Stanley. Then I head west in search of jungle and traces of the first settlers at Macquarie Harbour. An expedition that also involves dodging storms and crossing the jungle.

Brandon deviates from our normal vlog videos to talk about the poop shooter. There is so much disunity these days that we all need to reunify our minds and hearts around the one profoundly central idea: we all poop...and we all stink! The #rvblackwatertank can be intimidating to the new RVer. Heck, it even took us 3 RV's and some time on the road to get things regular and slipping through with a nice consistency each time. It's all about the right #rvblacktank treatment and few best practices to keep things sliding through. So leave your pride (and table manners) aside and jump on the porcelain (or plastic) RV throne with us and lets see if we can wiggle things loose for ya.

Hey! We're the Morses. A way too average family of six who decided to do something we never thought we would. We traded "normal life" for an RV and life on the road for a while. We'd love for you to come along with us and maybe, just maybe, we can learn together and inspire each other to try something a bit different. Whatever that different may be for you. Breaking out of routines is doing something thats not in your schedule. Even as a sailor, life can easily become routine with a constant feeling of something you need to do. I sometimes need a bit changes in scenery and experience. Happy to have Kylie back as she also enjoys doing something different now and then. Im waiting for my sails and other stuff to arrive, and my friend had no time for exploring before Christmas. So now we took the opportunity to do something about it.

After a few weak hiatus from uploading a video you now get to find out what the heck we've been up to! Which is kind of a whole lot. Not only do we have something very important to tell you, but Amber wraps up her final shifts at her travel nursing job. She gets celebrated because she's awesome AND gets a surprise visit by a good friend from back in Idaho to put a cherry on top of it all! Plus...a whole lot more that I just can't spoil right here so you'll just have to watch!

Following the launch of their 50 footer in 2021, Windelo launched their second model, the Windelo 54, which further develops the innovations of the smaller catamaran..

Yacht Designers Christophe Barreau and Fréderic Neuman have over a meter more to play with in this bigger multihull. Half of this is in the nacelle, which has given them the freedom to increase the comfort and 40cm is in the bow.

There is more performance, more options on configurations and higher comfort levels, all with the eco design and modest carbon footprint of her smaller sister. We enjoyed an extensive test sail on Zig Zag. Thanks to the Windelo Catamarans team.
