Delayed with pleasure and learning about rig inspections on Catamarans.

Crossing oceans is not a human right, it costs money. If you cant afford maintenance and running costs you should not do it. Safety is important and rig inspection is a big part of the safety aspect. I have said you can cross oceans in almost anything. I still stand behind this however it should be classed for all oceans and in good condition. I could buy a bigger yacht but would not be able to keep up with running costs. So my point in this video is to show you the importance of rig inspection no matter if your boat is new or old. Big or small. There is no such a thing as my boat is built the old fashion strong way. Any boat no matters the year it built, brand, or makes it still requires maintenance and rig inspection. I'm sorry to be so brutally honest but it's the truth.

I also show you some daily stuff as normal and having waffles and taco with my friend Hanna. I'm delayed with my own rigging but there is good news!

ABOUT THIS CHANNEL:
I'm trying to sail solo around the world in my Bavaria 55 Cruiser, making videos whenever I have time for it. Most of the time I sail singlehanded but occasionally I do have sailing friends onboard. Still in the Caribbean due to Covid and was supposed to be in Asia by now.

Even though this is season 3 on youtube I have already sailed 4 seasons full time but did not make that many videos in the beginning. Before full-time sailing, I have sailed several seasons in the Med prior to this, and obviously also in Scandinavia. I have been traveling the world before and also been an active regatta sailor. I had my first sailboat at age 7 and been sailing ever since.

PLEASE BE KIND IN THE COMMENTS!
I'm just a normal person sharing my travel adventure through my eyes and experience from my perspective! Remember how I do things might work for me but not for you. It might even not be the correct way to do things, and I don't have the blueprint either. I'm not perfect and nobody is. The day I believe I know it all and don't think I can learn new things I should go ashore.

Ok, so here it is, the first edition of my new thing "BEERS ON A BOAT". I decided I wanted to start a beer review series so that I can try out different beers I find as we travel on our sailboat SV Triteia. Also I thought it would be a good way to meet people and share brews on other boats as well!

In future episodes I'll also be having cohosts on the show, so we can have beer and talk about it, what we liked or didn't like, and enjoy being on the water together.

On this episode I try out San Pedro Brewery's "Royal Palms" NE IPA. I choose San Pedro Brewery because its down near where we keep our boat and I wanted to start off the series staying local.

Give the video a watch to see what I think about this beer!

https://sanpedrobrewing.com

We will post Episode two in a few weeks time which was filmed under anchor at Little Gibraltar.

Hello Friends,

On this weeks episode I introduce our viewers to the incredible Lagun Table Leg System. This is a modular table leg that can easily swing around out of the way and lock down to stay stable when needed. It can also break down into its individual parts and become self contained on the bottom of the table making the entire set up able to be stowed away.

I first learned about this on Dawn Treader's Channel ( https://www.youtube.com/channe....l/UChVCFPfAhNhT7zKtv ) and then later saw that Mads from Sail Life had installed one on his first boat as well.

I ordered mine a few days after watching Dawn Treader install one on their 1966 Allied Seawind and I am SO STOKED with it!

I bought mine on eBay as a "Factory Second" for $149 but for the life of me I can't figure out what is wrong with it as I didn't notice any scratches or blemishes. They can be bought brand new at https://www.lagunusa.com for $189 (at the time of this video posting)

I hope this video introduces this amazing tool to some of you out there with limited space on your boat that would love a table that easily swings out of the way!

Join us on a quick tour of the Bali Catspace, a 40' Sailing Catamaran that is one of their most successful models. With inverted bows and a deck design that is designed for ease of movement. The “BALI door” opens up the living space of the saloon-cockpit area, and thanks to the large windows, the interior is bathed in light. This catamaran feels bigger than 40'.
.
The Catspace has lounge areas on the foredeck and on its flybridge. The helm station is up top too, to starboard, and is surrounded on the side and behind with cushions.

PROJECT VIDEO: Cutting Holes in Boats

Hello Friends,

This is the first part in a series of videos showing you how I replaced our original forward hatch with a Lewmar Ocean Series 65 hatch.

Our original forward hatch was very bad at keeping the sea out and the frame had rotted to the point of no longer supporting the hinges so it was time to deal with this problem. I decided to replace the hatch with a serious ocean going hatch that I new I could trust when we are doing ocean passages and large seas tear across the deck. There was really only one choice for me, a Lewmar Ocean Series 65.

I went with the trapezoid shape to keep the same look as the original and I picked mine up on eBay for 95 dollars. The lens has crazing but me and Camille were not concerned with this and it can easily be replaced later on.

On this episode I mark the position of the new base and cut out the hole for the new slightly larger hatch.

If you enjoy our channel please "Like" the videos and Subscribe so you don't miss any future episodes.

With the new warranty repair team from Leopard Catamarans still not here, we kept ourselves busy getting things done around our Leopard 45 Catamaran.

Nino began painting the custom bow art on the yacht, using the huge vinyl stencils we had printed and applied earlier in the year. It was a project that was initiated by the previous contractor that we're looking forward to seeing done!

Tynan headed out to watch the 2024 Trinidad & Tobago Great Race, an annual offshore powerboat race that satisfied his love for big engines and fast vehicles.

Meanwhile Trent and I were smashing out boat jobs and paperwork in between caring for our rescued foster dog Cheems. A Trinidadian stray dog, we've taken her off the streets and are getting her ready to find a forever home, but a visit to the vet found a pesky parasite we need to deal with.

We also had supplies from Leopard arrive, that needed to be sorted out and stored, especially since there's more on the way!

It's always hard to leave places and things you love. This week it's time for me to continue moving south and I got to spend so many beautiful days out on the water simply sailing. I am still stopping to see friends and while doing so, I had a few marine life interactions that definitely became a highlight.

Give a little extra support 💞 The circumnavigation is JUST beginning... all of your help goes towards more gear to make the videos a bit better and the boat safer and more functional for myself as a single hand (and maybe an extra treat for Mako)

What do you think of the SP80 Speed Machine and the Swiss team trying to break the World Sailing Speed Record of 65.45knots set by Paul Larsen in 2012. 🚀
▫️
Will they break the record? What do you think? They are now at 50 knots. Comment below!
▫️
The team has a mission: to record an average speed of 80 knots (148km/h) over 500 metres powered only by the wind. They´ll need to reach a top speed of between 85 and 90 knots.
▫️
The plan is to increase the kite size step by step up to a huge 55 square metres to smash the record. They'll be sailing in Leucate in the South of France where the Tramontana blows off the Pyrenees using a kite for power and lift and a foil to keep them anchored to the water. Go SP80!

A tour around Catch Me, a VPLP GP70 luxury performance catamaran.
Built by Trimarine, renowned for its quality and based near Lisbon in Portugal. They are known for producing high-end carbon racing yachts.
▫️
The GP70 is 21m long and was designed by VPLP.
Built 80% in epoxy carbon sandwich, she is light, fast, elegant and able to sail large distances with a small crew.
The owner wanted a simple, fast boat to sail, a robust and reliable yacht that is calm on board with a very long range. Sounds like a good brief!
▫️
The solar should read 3kWp, there is a typo in the captions.

Finally wrapping up this four part series on my head build out! In this episode I measure and drill out the deck fitting and the hole for the vent in the hole on my Alberg 30. Boats of this age do not have a cored hull so the beauty is you don't need to seal the core on the vent hole because the entire hull is solid hand laid fiberglass!

I make my project videos on the slow side letting people see what I did and how I dealt with obstacles, in past videos my viewers have thanked me for not jumping over all of the details and getting right to the finished project so while this might not be the most exciting video it might help some people out there see how I dealt with certain aspects of the project.

Thanks for watching!

Season 5 Episode 94 - Fixing more broken systems on the ship.

On this weeks episode we work on some of the many systems of the boat that need attention as storms pass overhead one after another.

After repairing the water tank hose, relocating the VHF antenna and taping down the GPS antenna we head over to check out the local museum and eventually find ourselves being attacked by razor clams.

If this is the first Yacht Delivery Chronicles video you have seen heres a little bit of background of what this Season and miniseries is all about. This new season follows James and Camille on a delivery onboard a 74ft Power Yacht they were hired to crew on under then command of Captain Dave Stovall. The delivery which was planned for 9 days took 16 days due to failing boat systems and rough spring weather on the coast of the Pacific Northwest.

Episode #238 : Season 8 : The Hawaiian Adventures

Hello Friends!

THE TIME HAS FINALLY COME!!!! We are hauling out to fix Triteia's rudder once and for all! On this episode I untie from Ala Wai Harbor and make my way over to the Keehi Marine Center for my 8am haul out time.

They workers were standing on the dock at 7:30 when I motored up and wasted no time getting. Triteia out and up on jack stands and ready for me to get to work. To say I was nervous would be a gross understatement.

By the end of the day I had Triteia all prepared for welding and got her entire bottom sanded for a fresh coat of antifouling.
