It started with the high of re-homing our gorgeous rescue dog Chi Chi, before getting straight into it with the shelter being partially dismantled, the boat getting lifted and the keels and rudders being addressed. It's an incredibly busy, stressful period of time with boat work happening everywhere as we aim to get the yacht ready to launch in time to enjoy this years Caribbean sailing season.

This is it, the 10 day period before our scheduled launch and final chance to leave the hardstand this year, one of the most stressful, sleepless times I've had in my life, where unexpected problems piled on and we struggled to get this boat to where it needed to be, putting in everything we had to launch before 2025.

When we hauled our Leopard 45 catamaran out in March 2023, we thought it would be our 3rd and final new boat warranty haul out, lasting just 3 months.... how wrong we were!! Over 600 days later we found ourselves in the final count down to launch having overcome a multitude of warranty issues, examples of poor workmanship and collateral damage ranging from cosmetic damage to structural defects that rendered our sailing home unseaworthy.

For now we're regrouping on anchor, assessing what's left to resolve because despite spending almost 2 years on the hardstand, this is not the end of our Leopard Catamaran warranty journey.

We have an amazing 14NM sail and soon find ourselves coming about and pointing into the anchorage in the lee of Brampton Islands abandoned and spooky resort. We talk about the hay day of these resort and share photos with you of happier times on this once exotic island which now feels like a zombie resort just waiting to happen.

Hiking up to the look out we marvel a the view of Carlisle Island and take a close look at the nests of Green Tree ants and find ourselves surrounded by butterflies.

Learning from tragedy is important. Two Americans, a sailing couple are presumed dead after they vanished from their yacht in Grenada, leaving behind evidence of a bloody struggle, police in nearby St. Vincent and the Grenadines said Monday.

While doing some boat work aboard the yacht there was a *slight* mishap with one of the cameras taking swim in the Queensway Quay Marina…. Oops 😬

When we needed a break from boat work we headed back to the tunnels from last week to find out what was down the shaft, checked out a WW2 gun near Europa Point (as well a few nearby caves), and took a look around the top section of the Northern Defences, finding bunkers, tunnels, a machine gun nest and a skeleton named Henry.

Episode 394 : Season 12 : Sailing Australia

Hello Friends,
On this episode we explore Lizard Island. We knock out some laundry at a hand pump in a field, little house on the prairie style, before hiking up to where Captain Cook stood desperately searching for a way out of the Great Barrier Reef after repairing the Endeavour at Cooktown. The views from the top were out of this world!

The next day we hiked over to the lagoon side of the island and I enjoyed some fantastic snorkeling!
