Season 5 Episode 102: Monterey to Marina del Rey

We are BEYOND excited to bring you this episode this week because its the LAST EPISODE of our Yacht Delivery Chronicles "MV DRAGON LADY" season!!!!!!

What a wild ride its been! We are looking forward to getting back to actual sailing videos and videos of us refitting SV Triteia!

On this episode we explore the famous Monterey Bay Aquarium and spend sometime on Cannery Row before pushing off for our last passage of the delivery! Captain Dave's wife and James' old friend Samantha drove up from LA to join us on this last leg of the trip.

We had a wonderfully uneventful night and were greeted with countless whale sightings at sunrise near Point Conception. Camille took in the Southern California sun with some nude sunbathing on the upper deck and we were happy to feel its warmth after so much time in the Pacific Northwest.

But Poseidon had one more treat in store for us. Less than two hours from home we ran into a massive fog bank slowing our pace to a crawl and forcing us to steer by radar alone the rest of the way in.

This new season follows James and Camille on a delivery onboard a 74ft Power Yacht they were hired to crew on under then command of Captain Dave Stovall. The delivery which was planned for 9 days took 16 days due to failing boat systems and rough spring weather on the coast of the Pacific Northwest.

We put a cherry on top of our time in Florida (and my sailing school week) with a day charter sailing experience for the whole family! Then it was time get back on the road and continue our full time RV adventure around the country. Sailing along the coast of Sumbawa island in West Nusa Tenggara. We stop in couple of small towns. One of them Wava is special as here the Pinisi - specific Indonesian boats are built. Next place we visit is even more exotic - extinct volcano island Satonda with a lake inside! And 1000 of flying foxes… And some other cool places. Part 1 of my solo sail from the Bahamas to Florida!! A lot of work that is done on boats isn't easy; but raising anchor manually solo is at the top of the list for me. I finally capture how I do it and the rest is followed by a nice start of my sail back
