My 3 day sail with no autopilot was the last straw for me... I finally caved and spent a lot of money on a new autopilot.. and new Hydrovane parts. “Get in the dinghy” and “feisty shark” became the joke of the trip, find out why!

Ben and Shea are guests for 5 days. We made it to Andros in the last video. Join us for a few days in Andros. Shea completes her PADI freediving certification, sees sharks for the first time, jumps into the deep blue abyss, and a bit more!!

We explore via dinghy, watch some beautiful sunsets, and have a great time. But apparently, it can’t be a normal trip on Soul de La Mar without engine issues? The first of many engine issues starts now and will apparently become an ongoing battle with warranty.

If you want to SEE the sail... head to the last video (ep 80) (; Sailing is rejuvenating, yet it can take a lot out of you. I am taking it easy for a few days after the sail but it is time for my honest opinion of how my first long offshore solo sail REALLY went and how I planned the trip. Every cruiser I talk to fears the Mona Passage, and rightfully so... it can get intense; therefore I also wanted to explain why and how you can time this passage with the wind and currents.
