Not only did Boris grab third place on Day 5 of The Transat CIC solo race, he also deployed a scientific instrument, called drifter buoy, from onboard Malizia - Seaexplorer. Deployed a 46°W in the North Atlantic, the buoy will live for around 700 days and autonomously send data on atmospheric pressure, sea temperature and ocean currents to scientists on land. This data is crucial for the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and for climate scientists, as it improves weather forecasting predictions and better understand the role the Ocean plays in climate change. Keep pushing Boris!
