Originally from Sturgeon Bay, you can now find Utopia in Manitowoc, Wisconsin! Dockside visitors can explore this beautifully crafted vessel, which was designed by Fred J. Peterson of Peterson Builders, Inc. in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin and built in 1946. Utopia’s unique features include a steel double bottom for strength, wooden hull sides for warmth, and twin Detroit diesel engines. Visitors can marvel at her elegant lines, learn about her global circumnavigation, and appreciate the craftsmanship that has kept her sailing for decades. Utopia currently resides under the stewardship of the her new owners based in Manitowoc Wisconsin, where it continues to inspire curiosity and passion for the Great Lakes among learners of all ages.

As part of their 150th anniversary celebrations, Holland America Line's flag ship Rotterdam retraced her steps and made an Eastbound transatlantic crossing 150 years to the day after the historic first voyage. After leaving New York the first port of call was our home town of Plymouth in South West England. We went along to see the amazing welcome given to guests by the Cruise Plymouth volunteers as well as taking a look of this stunning ship moored off Plymouth's historic shore line. Thalmia has begun a singlehanded sailing trip along the south coast of Ireland heading for the Wild West Atlantic coast. I’ll post some more footage at a later date. This was sailing from Courtmacsherry to Glandore - bombing along at over 7knts at times in a beam reach with 1 reef in the main.
