All of the 500m World Speed Sailing Records that have been set since 1988. Paul Larsen on Sail Rocket 2 still holds the record at an average of 65.45 kts over half a kilometre, but there are a couple of teams that are challenging for the honours. The current target? 80 knots. ▫️ Do you think they can do it? Which do you think was the most impressive record breaker? ▫️ Was it Paul Larsen smashing the previous record by almost 10 knots? Or maybe Alain Thébault, the first guy over 50 knots? All of these guys must have nerves of steel. Or they're crazy. ▫️ #world #speed #sailing #record #nerves
Matt and Lisa make the tough decision to Sail away from Key West, in the aftermath of hurricane Ian. Key West experienced it’s fair share of death and destruction during the storm, and with another storm possibly following the same path in nine days, the crew decided to start their adventure two months earlier than planned. The five day sail up to mainland was filled with poor weather, big waves, and little sleep. Once they arrive in Fort Lauderdale, they quickly work to get the sailboat stocked with food, fuel, and anything else they will need for their international travels. The last day Matt goes up the mast, to work on navigation lights and get the boat ready for its voyage. Check out Episode 34 https://youtu.be/jrNVeYGVZLo
