Leaving the dinghy a few days in this water makes you pay for it big time. I have never in my life experienced such fast growth. Thankfully we managed to clean my dinghy with a help from my friends. We turned it into a happy hour with nice music at the beach

Last Wednesday, I went down to our local harbor for a dawn paddle on my stand up paddleboard (SUP). Sunrise on a spring morning is a special time, and what better place to see it than from the water? I stuck my bow into coves that are too shallow to reach on a "real" boat, and skimmed along the marsh shoreline for a closeup of the osprey pair in their nest. (They watched my progress carefully, but didn't fly away.) Fellow GFC Camper owners: I found some great, easy-to-install latch covers over on Etsy. I also squirted a bit of silicone grease down into the spring mechanism of my latches. So far, there have been no problems opening the latches in icy, cold, below-zero Canadian weather.
