The Catamaran is a tri-lingual portal publishing work by journalists from all over Sri Lanka. Stories in English, Sinhalese and Tamil provide background and add analysis to the most interesting stories in the country. Original reporting is available for free syndication to Sri Lankan and international media, the aim being to give novice reporters exposure and help experienced local journalists reach a wider audience. Bringing journalists from different Sri Lankan communities together strengthens vital ties and increases opportunities for collaboration, as well as contributing to capacity building in the Sri Lankan media sector. The online-magazine The Catamaran.org is editorially run by the Berlin-based organization, Media in Cooperation and Transition.
Are you ready for the warming up? Our Dehler 30 one design engine is already running... The Stealth Drive only comes to the fore when needed and is hermetically sealed behind its cover. We pair a small diesel engine (10 hp) with a rectractable shaft, which is controlled by a lever in the cockpit. This new drive concept is typically Dehler: designed for mass production and easy maintenance. To use the engine a simple pull on the lever is enough: the drive train folds down and the boat is ready to go under power. No water resistance and no chance that nets, seaweed or other foreign objects could tangle the prop and slow you down.
