It has been a very long time since my brothers and I all went sailing. This was the perfect day with gusty winds that forced us to put two reefs in. We sailed the Hooper Island Lighthouse run and made it back no worse for the wear. And none of us got in trouble . . . , at least not that we know of. Subscribe and share the adventure! Would you wander the ICW or cross an ocean aboard this pod‑driven passagemaker? Beneteau Swift Trawler 50 © Beneteau Length: 49 ft 2 in (14.99 m) Beam: 15 ft 3 in (4.65 m) Draft: 3 ft 5 in (1.05 m) Displacement: approx. 35,264 lb (16,000 kg) Top Speed: 24.8 knots Cruising Speed: 18–22 knots Range: approx. 300 nm at 18 kt Fuel Capacity: \~714 US gal (2×357 gal) Water Capacity: \~212 US gal Price: approx. US\$ 900,000 The Swift Trawler 50 redefines the classic trawler by pairing halo-like comfort and efficiency with Volvo Penta IPS600 pod drives. You get joystick docking, minimal roll, and performance that feels more sport cruiser than passagemaker (tested top end of 24.8 kt, cruising at 22 kt at 3,500 rpm) ([Canadian Boating][1], [Motor Boat & Yachting][2], [Boat Magazine International][3], [HMY Yachts][4]). Its semi‑displacement hull is optimised for IPS and trims tabs, delivering smooth economy—with modest fuel burn (\~70 L/hr at 11 kt) and up to \~317 nm range on a tank ([Trade A Boat][5]). Below decks, choose between layouts: three double cabins or two doubles plus an office and extra berth. The U‑shaped galley, dumbwaiter serving the flybridge, high bulwarks and panoramic pilothouse windows enhance liveability and safety at sea ([Beneteau][6]). While the build trades off some robustness for weight savings and interior volume, users praise the space, comfort and agility—even if not built for the toughest offshore conditions ([Reddit][7]). #BeneteauYachts #SwiftTrawler50 #LongRangeCruiser #HarbourMasters

► Conceived in 2013 to ease the pressure on the traditional ARC, which has been taking sailors across the Atlantic from East to West since 1986, the ARC+ has become increasingly popular thanks to its stopover in Mindelo, Cape Verde. According to Paul Tetlow, General Manager of the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers, the Mindelo stopover has many advantages - especially for family crews. The route, although longer overall, is in fact two legs shorter (11 to 16 days for Mindelo - St. Georges) than the ARC's “direct” transatlantic passage and features a generally more clement southerly route. The stopover also serves to strengthen the bonds between the crews. Arriving in Grenada, in the far south of the West Indies, means there are no questions about the Caribbean program: you're heading north until May, and that's that! This year, no fewer than 91 yachts ranging in size from 36 to 72 feet (11 to 22 m) docked at Grenada's luxurious Port Louis marina. Among them were no fewer than 27 catamarans - a ratio that is steadily increasing in favor of multihulls. On the dock, 434 sailors of 26 different nationalities shared their ocean experience. 37 children took part in the adventure: among them, Lauren, Rebecca and Michela, aboard the Dutch Excess 11 AtC, looked after Archie, the ARC+'s teddy bear mascot... The ARC+, deliberately oriented towards cruising, has no racing division, whereas the ARC does, but only for monohulls. All multihulls are therefore authorized to use their engines, but they are required to declare the times they use them, and an hourly penalty is logically assigned. It can be strategically useful for getting out of an area of calms more quickly and optimize passage time. As a consequence of this “motor-driven” regatta, it's the compensated time that motivates the crews and interests us. Note that 10% of the fleet did not use their engines at all. ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests! Su Maserati Multi 70, insieme a Giovanni Soldini, il boat captain Guido Broggi, Matteo Soldini, Francesco Pedol, Oliver Herrera Perez, Frédéric Le Peutrec, Alberto Riva e Francesco Malingri (media man). #MaseratiMulti70 #RolexMiddleSeaRace Sito web: https://maserati.soldini.it/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/giovannisoldini/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/giovanni_soldini/ Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/giovannisoldini/
