S/V Ruatahi started life as a 1999 Manta 40 and is now a Manta 46 catamaran for sale by owner. I worked with a famous Naval Architect (Gunboat fame amongst other things) to see if we couldn’t improve the motion and load carrying capabilities also to bump the performance up a little. The sterns have been extended, and she’s about 46’ LOA now. The rudders have been extended also to give better control. Ruatahi has many other customizations and upgrades including an extended mast, "kiwi prop" saildrives, and a Hurricane diesel hot water and heating system. Una limpida giornata d'Agosto con rotta verso le secche della Meloria con vista sull'isola di Gorgona, ma il video non rende bene, la giornata era talmente limpida da intravedere sia la Corsica che l'isola di Capraia. video realizzato in mattinata con assenza di vento (patana), al contrario nel pomeriggio i veleggianti che non avevano mai toccato il timone si sono divertiti a far letteralmente volare la barca sull'acqua grazie ad un vento fino a 16 nodi.
