If you've ever found yourself landlocked on a hot summer day, wishing you knew someone who had a boat, we've got good news for you. In Lower Manhattan, the "someone with a boat" is actually the South Street Seaport Museum, which offers delightful, two-hour sailing trips on its 1885 schooner, Pioneer. We set sail on the 19-century vessel last week for a sunset ride, taking in the historic sights and relaxing sounds of the New York Harbor. All of the experiences offered on Pioneer are between $20-$70 and are BYOB - a perfect way to live large in the summertime while staying on budget. Find out everything else you can expect from a ride on the schooner on our website at downtownny.com. Bon voyage!

First time in the Atlantic!! We have a furler problem we need to fix so we are heading out around marathon key. Off grid living comes with it's unique set of problem that need fixing. Especially when off grid means living on a boat. We were anchored on the gulf side and the boat yard is on the Atlantic side so away we go! Two hour cruise around the island to get to a spot that would take ten minutes to walk to lol! Quit a large change of pace from life on land to living on a boat! Thankfully we are no longer in a rush to do much of anything these days, so a little day cruise is under way! Sadly the sails stay down for this one. Next time though.
