We are on day two of our passage in the Gulf Stream. Our parents said our boat is hauling quickly through the water from 2 to 4 knots of current in the direction we are traveling. We're nice and clear. I was going to say we've looked at the wind but the wind unfortunately just died completely on us. Unfortunately cos I wanted to show you how to do that with wind but, yeah, anyway so. Marina Baotič, Marina Baotič this is yacht Marie do you copy. So we call up the marina on the channel that they are designated. Here it's 17. Now we are here in our approach to the marina. Now one thing I am teaching all the time when I teach, training and skippering, and all that sort of thing. With docking and manoeuvring under power, because its one of the hardest things about sailing and that is "ONLY GO AS FAST AS YOU NEED TO" and use neutral as a gear. So right now I'm doing just under 2 knots and I'm in control I have control because there is not that much wind in here and I don't need more than 2 knots to have control with my rudders. So you only go as fast as you need to, to stay in control. OCC members, Fred and Sandy onboard their catamaran Dakota Dream, were anchored at Antigua when this happened to their generator. It seems someone forgot to turn off the hot-wired raw water pump for their Northern Lights M673, 6 kw generator when they left the boat for Happy Hour. Upon returning to their boat, they realized the problem and shut down the still running raw water pump, too late. The generator was hydro-locked. This is what happens when an injector is removed to get raw water out of the cylinders. Ouch! Diesel and salt water sprays everywhere!!!
