🚨 Whale sharks! This is not a drill! 🚨 A Whale Shark is one of the rarest marine encounters you can experience on the Great Barrier Reef. It was a real treat for everyone on board Silversonic yesterday when they encountered this beauty 400m off Turtle Bay. Our #sailing adventure in #newyork was a unique and challenging experience. Aside from being a bustling #harbour with much marine traffic, the harbour is affected by tidal currents—two floods and two ebbs every day. Learning the current patterns to plan your sail into the harbour is essential, especially if you want to sail up the East River and into the Long Island Sound.
