REVERSING INTO A BERTH: Singlehanded Docking Stern To with Lazy Lines Watch as Nick, step by step reverses into a berth. This is video 8 in Nicks step by step singlehanded Docking To/With Lazy Lines =========================== Watch the full training video here - https://youtu.be/-OPs960oR88 =========================== Transcript As we approach the dock here I want to get quite close. Now I'm using forward just to stop us from getting back onto the dock itself. As soon as I've lost my forward reverse momentum I stop. If you can throw the line to him like that over his arm then it's not going to hit him in the face. Oh we'll take it back it's okay. Oh okay okay. So you'll get this as well. There's often you will um either get someone who's going to pass the line back to you or he's just going to hitch it there so that you don't have to deal with it straight away. Now if it was a really windy day or if I was getting blown away right now I would drive my boat against that Stern line or control line. Gaetano è nato il 7 luglio 1968 a Cala Gonone sulla costa orientale della Sardegna dove ha sempre vissuto; qui il rapporto con la natura è la vita stessa, e al mare Gaetano ha consacrato la sua esistenza, nell'appassionato incontro tra lavoro, sogno e avventura.Dove è nato Gaetano non esistono circoli velici e manca una tradizione di vela. La sua carriera in mare incomincia presto quando si imbarca come mozzo sui pescherecci, poi come comandante sul trasporto passeggeri di piccolo cabotaggio. A vent'anni acquista il Dovesesto un fatiscente veliero d'epoca di 23 metri col quale, una volta restaurato, si guadagnerà da vivere (un'innovativa esperienza imprenditoriale) facendo charter e sarà la scuola della sua vita. Autodidatta per forza di cose ha imparato la vela da solo, trasformando la sua passione in impegno concreto attraverso studio e determinazione imparando a comprendere il vento onnipresente nella sua isola. Poi le regate lungo l' Oceano, una conquista dopo l'altra. La sua vocazione è la navigazione in solitario, quella che gli è più congeniale per la quale sente di avere una predisposizione fisica e mentale. La sua ultima impresa è la partecipazione alla Transat 2009. Nel 2011 ha progettato "gironelmondo" e dal 2012 inizia l'attività con BET 1128 Saling Team. Partecipando alla Palermo Montecarlo dove vince nella sua classe, poi la Middle Sea Race dove conquista il secondo posto. Nel 2013 trasloco in oceano per la partecipazione a Les Sables-Horta- Les Sables e alla Transat Jacques Vabre
