Last year Trinidad, this year Saint Martin! A new experience for us, we're celebrating Carnival 2025 on the French side of St Martin, an island in the northern windward islands of the Caribbean. The small but vibrant parade showed a passion for the spirit of Carnival with each troupe performing for the crowd and showing of their skills. There was dancing, drumming, moko jumbies and whip cracking, with a positive vibe as visitors and locals alike shared in the day. Dopo una settimana insieme, è la volta di Gabri. Il volo del rientro in Italia la aspetta, il lavoro chiama! Ad aspettarla a casa mio papà che, invece, si prepara per tornare tra qualche giorno da questa parte dell’oceano, con il resto dell’equipaggio, per ritornare tutti insieme in Mediterraneo. I saluti sono sempre difficili, specialmente quando sai che ci si rivedrà tra un po’. Ma il sapore è meno amaro pensando che il grosso del tempo lontani è andato! La famiglia è sempre un tema delicato per noi: amiamo vivere nuove avventure, ma non siamo tipi da “molliamo tutto e arrivederci”. Per ora i piani sono ancora appannati e non ben definiti: forse abbiamo trovato un cantiere a Sint Marteen dove tirare su Julia che necessita davvero di antivegetativa. Quando muoveremo dalla Repubblica Dominicana? Non lo sappiamo. Sappiamo che il 2 parte Titti, sorella di Cami, e le giornate ormai sembrano scritte con monotonia: mattino sole, pomeriggio vento e pioggia. Vento che per di più soffia da est a ovest, e dove dobbiamo andare noi? A est…. I tanto amati venti che spingono iniziano a non presentarsi più all’appello, sostituiti da bolina e bordi per risalire. Abbiamo girato la boa, abbiamo un mese per preparare la barca, l’equipaggio e mollare gli ormeggi dai Caraibi per fare prua sulle Azzorre. Il viaggio continua! A domani, Andrea
