It’s a mix of emotions — most of the fleet is behind you, but three yachts are still ahead, and with the finish line fast approaching, there’s no time left to catch them. Which means no podium finish this time. It was a 15-mile offshore race from Rogoznica’s Marina Frapa to Maslenica, on the island of Šolta, Croatia. As the race unfolded, the wind intensified to over 24 knots, with gusts hitting 32. More walking along the tiny canals in Wat Tha Phra, Bangkok. As we chose to visit Thailand during the Thai New Year festivities, we were not spared the clay and water - a great tradition. It used to be a quiet and kind ritual of gently sprinkling perfumed water as a blessing, only after permission. As our host would tell us. Nowadays, water is thrown at anyone passing by with cups, water guns and buckets. Still, unique, colorful, loud and with a smile - the new Thai way.
