The Schenker Zen 100 watermaker literally makes converting seawater into pure drinking water as easy as pressing some buttons. In this video, we discuss the add-on module that allows the system to automatically monitor the generated water for salt content and only start filling the fresh water tanks when the water is free from salt. Note: I believe this will increase the cost of the watermaker option slightly, but it is a small (couple hundred dollars I was told?) upgrade compared to the system cost and really takes all the guess work out of water creation. Given the importance of water, we're going with this upgrade! Want more? Welcome to Gramvousa Island, the first landfall when sailing from the Peloponnese to Crete. This island is renowned not only for its breathtaking beaches and historic Venetian fortress but also for the mysterious shipwreck rusting along its shore. The wreck is that of the Dimitrios P, a cargo ship that ran aground near Gramvousa in January 1968. The exact cause of the stranding remains a topic of speculation. Some suggest the ship was overwhelmed by severe weather and rough seas, while others believe it was abandoned by its crew due to mechanical issues. Whatever the true story, today the wreck forms an iconic image in the turquoise waters surrounding the island.
► Full test in Multihulls World N°196. The smallest model in the HH range manages to reconcile a very “performance” vision of cruising (all-carbon construction, a sleek sail plan with a 62’ / 19 m mast, and deep daggerboards in the SC version) with a hybrid propulsion system. The HH44, with its 3.2 kWp of solar panels, 50.4 kWh of Lithium-Ion batteries and two 10 kW electric motors, is capable of covering 18 nautical miles at 7.5 knots in full electric mode. The catamaran will be equipped with a very efficient hydro-generation system for charging while under sail. Diesel engines give total safety by doubling the means of propulsion. At anchor or in port, the transoms fold down on each side to create bathing platforms. This model also comes in an Ocean Cruising version with classic fiberglass construction, aluminum mast, and skeg keels. ► Builder: Hudson Yacht Group Architect: Hudson Yacht & Marine Ltd.
