It is always a bit intimidating doing surgery completely alone. My first job out of vet school I worked solo almost from the get go, but I always knew there were other vets in town, a phone call away to help. Out here with no internet or cell service, an 8+ hour sail from the nearest vet clinic, I was operating truly alone (well, Jim is always helping me, but alone in the veterinary sense!). But I have had a lot of practice being a vet and working alone, and I knew Cholo needed this surgery.
