Pasar por debajo de un puente a vela siempre es algo emocionante. También lo es en nuestro querido Gran Nergha, un Jeanneau Sun Odissey 51.9. El puente de Rande es un icono en la Ría de Vigo. Pasar por debajo implica dificultad, sobre todo si en el día que has elegido sopla viento fuerte. Está situado en el estrecho de Rande y esto hace que el viento se encañone, aumentando su intensidad y rolando en la periferia. A mí me gusta la acción. Our Haas GR-712 CNC machine and her crew are hard at work milling a laminated sapele wood transom. The transom will be installed on the construction strong back and glued to the keelson before the hull planking is laminated in place. It is one of many structural components cut by the CNC for the new LM 65 ft cold molded sailboat project.

Seacocks are bronze valves in a boat and are used as a safety measure for closing off holes below the water line and keeping water out of the boat for either maintenance or emergencies. We have 4 total on Seawind, and one of them has been giving us trouble for the past couple of years. I cleaned and greased this particular seacock, and ever since, it’s seeped a bit of water into the boat.
