The Grand Soleil Cup is back. From May 21st to 23rd, 2026, the Grand Soleil Cup returns to the stunning setting of Porto Cervo, Sardinia. A longer, richer edition designed to bring the entire Grand Soleil community together during three days of sailing, sea, shared moments, and new experiences, on and off the water. It was tough to control the the remote control yachts in blustery conditions off the pontoon at SLYC during the Saturday morning racing. After a nice rounding and gybe at the top mark a big puff sent this yacht down the mine and into a massive nosedive and round up. With the pressure going from 5 to 15 in seconds it was hard to get the nose away after the wind made it hard to play. The team at bottom up boats love racing of all shapes and sizes, I loved taking this footage and spending a few minutes on the dock talking to some life long sailors who now enjoy racing from the peer long past the days that their sea legs have deserted them.
