It was all plan sailing until the skipper forgot to duck. The speed at which the boom crosses the boat during a gybe makes it a dangerous weapon. This video should be a reminder to everyone to stay safe and to remember to duck when gybing a boat. Luckily no one was hurt other than the skippers pride, he dusted himself off and raced on. I went to Wakra Beach today on friday, (the main beach NOT next to the family beach) and there was no police to be seen. People were swimming and kitesurfing would have been no problem. It looks to me like the beach is available for us kiters again!
