Another day another project…doors need to be cleaned with Oxalic Acid, rinsed and remounted. We removed the doors and hinges to start. Cleaned the hinges with vinegar water mixture, coated the doors on all sides with an oxalic acid water mixture and let sit to do its job. A bit of scrubbing for difficult spots then a good rinse with water. Allow to dry before remounting the doors for the night. Quick and easy project for the bright work. @sailingeriskay

Full article to discover in Multihulls World N°203. Our senior reporter Brieuc Maisonneuve has joined the crew of the ORC 57 Avel Vaez: “I’m here with a diverse but extremely motivated team, determined to get the most out of this high-performance catamaran designed to swallow up the miles.” The Aegean 600 is now in its fifth edition. This non-stop, 605-nautical-mile race takes place in the heart of the Cyclades islands in Greece. Starting from the legendary Cape Sounion, the 59 crews (including eight aboard multihulls) have no fewer than 13 islands to round ahead of them... “A sumptuous and demanding course, with gusty areas and unexpected lulls, steep cliffs and turquoise waters.” Of course, it’s the weather that dictates the pace: this year, the crew of Allegra, the fastest 86-foot catamaran in the fleet, are going to need nearly four days to complete the course – compared to last year’s record of one day, 13 hours, 18 minutes, and 52 seconds. ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 600 multihulls tests! Ever wondered what’s hidden beneath the floorboards of a sailboat? 🤔 In this episode, we’re stepping just ahead of the saloon into the guest area of Vela. Beneath your feet lies a network of essential systems that keep life on board running smoothly: 🔹 Thru-hulls: - One for discharging the holding tank. - A water intake for the toilet and our new washdown pump. 🔹 Shower drain pump: - Pumps out the water from your onboard shower, keeping things dry. 🚿 🔹 Depth and speed transducers: - Telling us how fast we’re going and how deep the waters are. 🌊 🔹 Forward-looking sonar: - A lifesaver for spotting shallow waters ahead, helping us navigate safely into hidden coves and anchorages. 🛟 It’s amazing how many essential systems are tucked away down here. Had you imagined that so many of the things we use daily are hidden beneath the floorboards? 🌍 🎵 Music by Sergio Prosvirini from Pixabay #YouTubeShorts #Explore #TravelVlog #Vloggers #DailyLife #ChristmasCalendar #Vlogmas #ChristmasOnBoard #Beneteau44cc #Sailing #Liveaboard #lifeatsea
