The 39ft William Fife/ OM Watts Cutter, PEREGRINE, from 1936, taking a stroll down the Solent late last summer on her way to supper on the Beaulieu River…she’s very pure and uncomplicated, wholesome - even humble in her look … but aren’t those the special ones.. Modern yachts will take you there too, but wouldn’t you rather get there in this kind of style!? Just another day on the Reef! While conducting weekly Eye on the Reef surveys, marine biologists Dr Glen and Fern had some unexpected company as a pod of Spinner Dolphins cruised on by at Quicksilver’s Agincourt Reef pontoon! You never know what wonders you’ll encounter out here. Spinner dolphins are the most common species encountered on the Reef and are named after the aerial tricks they perform when leaping out of the water. These small dolphins will even ride the pressure wave off the bow of slow moving vessels.
