I've been sailing since I was a teenager, starting with dinghies, though I took a long break from sailing altogether. Now, aboard a 40-foot boat, I've realized the importance of staying fit as I navigate this less nimble vessel. Das Maritime Alphabet (auch NATO-Alphabet genannt) soll das Buchstabieren schwer verständlicher oder seltener Wörter erleichtern. Dazu legt eine Buchstabiertafel für jeden Buchstaben das zu verwendende Wort fest. Jeder Segler sollte das Maritime Alphabet beherrschen.
