While this new model is the replacement for the Isla 40, it offers a volume equivalent to that of the Astrea 42, and all for a relatively tight price... You guessed it, the New 41, whose real name we'll soon find out, is positioned from the outset as one heck of a challenger in the 40-foot market. This model, which we discovered exclusively at La Rochelle, proved to be gentle at the helm, very pleasant to live aboard and easy to handle. It features the brand's signature dual helm/sail maneuvering station, a large sun-lounging area on the bimini and another one forward of the coachroof, a large surface area of solar panels (producing 2 to 2.3 kWp), a large opening hatch at the forward end of the nacelle and slightly angled aft berths. The boat we tested was equipped with an electric powertrain, which enabled us to cruise as far as the island of Ile d'Aix without generating any carbon emissions. As standard, the internal combustion option remains available. The New 41 will be presented at the Open Days event organized by the shipyard at the end of June in La Rochelle, then officially launched in September at the Cannes Yachting Festival. ? ? A not-to-be-missed event for boating enthusiasts on the U.S. East Coast, the Annapolis Boat Shows attract some 100,000 visitors every year. The event is in fact two separate boat shows held in the same spot, but a week apart. The Powerboat Show, dedicated just to powerboats (417 units on display), was held from October 3 to 6, followed by the Sailboat Show from October 10 to 14. It's the latter of the two that we've selected for you. The event provided an opportunity to take stock of how the multihull sector is taking hold in the United States: we counted 56 two- or three-hull units compared with 96 monohulls, totaling nearly 30% of the offer. Although some exhibitors' delivery trips to the show were hampered by the hurricanes further south, the Current 46, the Leopard 46 and the Xquisite Sixty Solar Sail all made their world premiere. ?
