The K28, the smallest of them all, was already presented in Barcelona in 2023, but this year's Cannes Yachting Festival saw its bigger sistership unveiled: The K30 features a large platform integrating the outboards. For the Kattum range, an Open format was logically chosen to offer maximum deck space, but the designers have also limited the beam to that of a cruising monohull, to make searching for berths easier. Ragazzi che galoppata. Ieri notte abbiamo tenuto sempre una velocità maggiore di 7 nodi. Ci svegliamo con un'alba appannata. C'è molta umidità nell'aria. Il vento cala nelle prime ore del mattino ed essendo un bel lasco, prepariamo, issiamo e scalziamo il nostro giga gennaker salva bonaccia. Prendiamo passo, in poco vento ci muoviamo quasi alla sua stessa velocità, finché non sentiamo un rumore dolce e inquietante allo stesso tempo. Si rompe la drizza in testa d'albero. E pensare che immaginavo un suono secco e spaventoso. Invece no, l'equipaggio non si è scomposto e ognuno si è reso disponibile aiutando il recupero dal mare. Fortunatamente avevamo preparato già una drizza di rispetto che a questo punto diventa la principale. Lo riapriamo e copriamo parecchie miglia. Poi il vento gira e diventa una bolina. Comoda, non estrema. Ripartiamo a 8 nodi e continuiamo la nostra cavalcata. Poi, il tramonto. Che colori, che sensazioni, che emozioni. Sappiamo di essere in un luogo che sa regalarci ricche emozioni e questo tramonto è stato proprio una di quelle. Tutto bene dall'equipaggio di Julia, ci aggiorniamo domani. Un po' più lontani dai Caraibi, un po' più vicini alle Azzorre.
