Day 6. I finally feel good again. Itâs taken a few days, but today I woke up feeling like myself. And it shows. The whole mood is different. Everything feels lighter, easier, more positive. We used the day to prepare for the front thatâs coming. Gabi cooked, so we now have food ready. We cleaned up the boat a bit, got things in place, just making sure weâre set before the weather changes. I also spent some time working on the SSB radio and finally got it to work. It still needs a bit of fine tuning, but thatâs a big step forward. The winds have been very light today, so we havenât been moving much. But honestly, itâs been nice. A calm day to reset, get organized, and just breathe a little. On the Monday and Tuesday before Ash Wednesday the dual island nation of Trinidad & Tobago celebrates their annual Carnival! There was a huge lead up with many fetes and celebrations, as well as national stick fighting and steel pan competitions. Carnival Monday starts with Jouvert and Carnival Tuesday is largely about the Mas Parade. We went into Port of Spain to see this highly anticipated event for ourselves, going to the Socadrome and parade route along Arapita Avenue.
