If your vessel is traveling in a straight line and the angle to another vessel relative to your vessel is not changing then you have an issue. You can also use a compass. The new Volvo Penta Forward Drive is an all new drive system, which mates a forward-facing propeller (like those on IPS pod drives) with a stern drive unit.
