► Since 1973, the La Rochelle Boat Show, known simply as “Le Grand Pavois” in French, has been THE not-to-be-missed afloat show on France’s Atlantic coast. With 750 boats on display and a record 80,000 visitors, the 2023 event (that ran from September 20 to 25, so a little earlier than usual) clearly benefited from the scheduled absence of the Paris Boat Show at the end of the year. According to the organizers, no more than 10 square feet was left available at the Port des Minimes! Of course, the Multihulls World team was there. We sailed bringing a Peruvian balsa traditional sailing raft around the world via the 2 capes; Good Hope and Cape Horn, east to west, promoting our Peruvian traditional sailing heritage to all 14 ports and all major Oceans, Pacific crossing, Indian and Atlantic to meet the infamous Cape Horn to starboard. First South American and Peruvian Sailor to do so, and part of a short list (not having entered the Chilean Fjords either). Many crew joined us - we thank Peruvian ambassadors throughout the globe specially Australia, South Africa, Uruguayan & Chileans for their collaboration with our expedition.
