► Full test in Multihulls World 189: https://www.multihulls-world.com/review/trimaran/rapido-40-fast-foldable-and-worry-free ► The Triac Composites shipyard and the enormous experience of its team produces a wonderful range of high-performance trimarans from 40 to 60 feet out of its base at Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), in Vietnam. The manufacturer has unveiled its latest “little” boat, the Rapido 40. Trick of the light - that’s its name - has shown good average speeds right from its first sail. This model, in the Racer version, is boosted with C-foils and a carbon rig. While the central hull has a very narrow beam at the waterline, reasonable volume is nevertheless ensured inside, thanks to a marked chine. The floats are particularly voluminous, obviously guaranteeing good strength. And when you go alongside in port, they fold like a dragonfly: the beam is reduced from 28’10” (8.80 m) at sea down to 17’1” (5.20 m). ► TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Builder: Broadblue Catamarans - Length: 39’4” (11.99 m) Beam: 22’ (6.7 m) - Light displacement: 11,020 lbs (5 t) Draft: 3’7” (1.1 m) - Mainsail: 625 sq ft (58 m²) Self-tacking solent: 300 sq ft (28 m²) Fuel: 2 x 53 US gal (2 x 200 l) - Engines: 2 x 20/30 HP Price: £ 281,660 ex-tax - www.broadblue.com Builder: Rapido Trimarans/Triac Composites Architect: Morelli & Melvin - Material: composite Length: 39’4” (12 m) - Beam: 17’1”/28’10” (5.2/8.8 m) Draft: 22”/4’7” (0.56/1.4 m) - Displacement: 10,600 lbs (4.8 t) Mainsail: 700 sq ft (65 m²) - Solent: 345 sq ft (32 m²) ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests!
