Who's the fastest windsurfer ever? ▫️ We ran a reel recently on the 500m World Sailing Speed Record currently held by Paul Larsen on Sailrocket 2. There are quite a few windsurfers on the list. ▫️ We got quite a few comments asking "where is Bjorn Dunkerbeck?" While he doesn´t hold any 500m sailing records, he has held 3 outright records over a nautical mile and also hit 55.97 knots over a 2 second time gap in 2021. ▫️ So here he is. J109 "CTRL J" beating up the shore to stay out of the tide shortly after the start of the Harbour Race of Cork Week 2024. With over 100 boats on the start line everyone was fighting for air shortly after the start, with the tide coming in all day it paid to get right early to find both clear air and some relief from the stronger tide out in the main channel.
