Fellow GFC Camper owners: I found some great, easy-to-install latch covers over on Etsy. I also squirted a bit of silicone grease down into the spring mechanism of my latches. So far, there have been no problems opening the latches in icy, cold, below-zero Canadian weather. Yesterday we performed a phase out inspection from charter management for the owner. After the inspection on the mooring, a sea trials on engine and sails was carried out, after which the sailboat was taken out. In a few days we will return for a visual inspection of the underwater part, measurement of capillary moisture and inspection with a thermal camera.

We are engaged by the buyer to inspect the boat before taking it over. That was our first meeting with Saxdor. I have to admit that I came with certain prejudices because we inspected boats of a similar type and could not find any justification for the prices that reached up to million of Euros. Saxdor is advertised as the fastest growing European brand, and according to what we have seen, we are not surprised.
