With the wind blowing out of the slip channel and the boat docked bow-to, begin by backing out of the slip into the wind. Once you’re clear of the dock, the wind will start pushing the bow downwind and help rotate the boat into the direction of the slip channel. As the boat lines up, shift into forward and drive out toward the main channel. In stronger winds, dock lines may be needed to help control the boat during the first part of the maneuver.
